"C. T. Studd: No Retreat" is a detailed and inspiring biography of Studd's life also as a missionary in China, India, & Africa. He was first an obsessed and renowned cricketer raised in novelty till his father was converted and encouraged his sons to follow the Lord. After being evangelized, Studd gave his heart to God and served first as a missionary in China under Hudson Taylor. China was also where he met his wife who served God with him side by side despite her frail health. And no matter how many unfortunate "storms" he went through, God blessed him to serve and share the Gospel everywhere he went. One of my favorite parts was where Studd was having a chat with his cousin, Dolly. She came in serving him hot chocolate and talking about smallpox (Christianity) that Studd was spreading. Studd took a cup of hot chocolate held it in his hands and told her, "This is how God loves you, Dolly. He offers you a cup of hot chocolate, the gift of salvation. But yet, you refuse it." A few days later Dolly sent him a telegram with the message, "Got the smallpox badly. Love, Dolly." Get this book now to read more!
