Science: My Breakthrough Junior Challenge Video, "Stellar Evolution"

So listen to this story.

When I was 9 years old, a Filipino High-School girl named Hillary Diane Andales won the Breakthrough Junior Challenge through a simple yet breathtaking video of the Theory of Relativity.

Not only had she given pride for her country, but she also won a 250,000 dollar scholarship to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). She was a big inspiration to her fellow Filipinos. And all she did was explain a theory.

I so badly wanted to win the Challenge like her.

Sadly, I waited for 4 years just to become eligible (to be eligible for the contest you had to be a High-school student, 13 years old). Each year was a step closer to the big thing. And every year, I always took a peek at the rules so that when I was the age, I could just go ahead and submit my video.

On April 6, 2021, I finally turned THIRTEEN.

The year when I could do things for 13 years olds, like the Breakthrough Junior Challenge.

So I signed up,

read the instructions carefully,

submit my age and some required stuff,

and then I made my video.

The video submission had to be from April 1, 2021, to June 25, 2021, at 11:59 PM PDT.

It had to be a video of "a theory, concept, or principle in physics, life sciences, mathematics" and no more than 3 minutes long.

So I worked so hard, I drafted it up several times, did the artwork, and got so much encouragement and help from my family and friends.

It was getting near the deadline and I had no internet (in the Philippines, most of the time there's a lot of disconnection). So I went to my close and intimate friend, Kerwin's house (we were neighbors), just for the internet to submit my video. He helped me a lot, we even made deals regarding the prizes.

It was like a few hours, 1-2 to be exact, to the deadline. And I still had to edit it. So rush, rush, RUSH!

Then I was FINALLY done with the video.

He and I were sitting together.

filled with suspense, excitement, nervousness, happiness, and the big relief of getting THIS done.

I moved my finger in the mousepad to press "submit."

"CLICK!"

Kerwin and I,

we were just too stunned by the answer.

It took us a few minutes to understand, take in, and realize what it said.

and when we did.

we cried

no, we wailed.

the disappointment was.. was... just...

it was like a blast of a bomb that suddenly hit our minds.

My biggest mistake was this:

"13 or older by 12:01 AM PDT on April 1, 2021"

And all I thought was that it was anytime in April!

You can't just imagine,

all the hard work,

all the long nights, wasted. left us struck.

Now I had to wait for another year.

You can believe it or not, but it's true. That's what happened.

And this is similar to life.

You can think of this thing, have belief in it, riot for it, persecute for it, work for it, be loyal to it.

But...

when you meet God when he gives you your verdict of what you have done in this life, where you will go when cause you died, you'll just be too stunned.

Have you thought about it? Where you will go when you die? Perhaps you don't want to think about it because you do know.

Just think about it. Don't you want a more solid purpose and promise in life? Don't you think that the things of this earth, following anything of this world are useless? Friends, idols, your new something, songs, celebrities, things you love, your job, school, work... gone, they just go away.

There's a better, unbreaking, promise which I hope you'll find out here.

oh and here's the video:
